The second edition of the Deepstack Open starts this weekend with its first event at the Gran Casino Costa Brava en Lloret de Mar, Spain, that will play out until 3rd April.
The Deepstack Open is organised and sponsored by Chilipoker and was inaugurated last year in Dublin, Ireland. The first edition of the European-and-North-African circuit went on to include: Aix-en-Provence, France; Namur, Belgium; Vilamoura, Portugal; Vienna, Austria; Marrakesh, Morrocco; and Paris, France. Three Frenchmen won the first three and the final events, being joined by an Englishman, a Swede and a Hungarian on the circuit’s podium.
This year’s events will feature a Main Event tournament with a €550 buy-in that will get each player a whopping 50,000-chip starting stack to handle over 60-minute levels. The potential ups-and-downs of the action are infinite to behold and are likely to take the players all the way to the wire at Sunday’s final table.
The 2011 Deepstack Open tour will move from Spain’s Costa Brava to, Cannes, France, at the end of April, the first of two Marrakesh stops in May, Malta in October, Vienna, Austria in November with a Paris and second Marrakesh Winter stop still to be confirmed.
